I create art to hold onto memories, relationships, and quiet connections in life.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I’m most drawn to realistic painting, especially in oil, because I like focusing on small details and turning personal moments into something more permanent. I also enjoy working with materials like silicone, ceramics, wood, and metal fabrication, where I can be more hands-on and experimental. Switching between painting and sculpture helps me explore ideas of touch, connection, and relationships in different ways.
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration mostly comes from my painting practice and the process of working from photographs, especially of my cat. These images capture quiet, personal moments that I’m drawn to revisit and translate into paint. Focusing on detail and observation helps me build a stronger sense of connection to the subject, and that’s where a lot of my ideas begin.
What would you do with $25,000?As I’m just graduating with my BFA in Drawing and Painting, I see this as a chance to build a strong foundation for my practice. I would use $25,000 to support my transition out of school by investing in materials, improving my workspace, and documenting my work professionally. I’d also use part of it to apply to exhibitions and opportunities while I continue shaping my direction as an artist.
