I’ve always had an interest in art since I was a young teenager. I sketch, paint with oils and Asian ink & watercolor. I love painting!
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I like to create things that get a reaction. Landscapes in oils that look so real, you could walk into them, or a subject that gets a great reaction out of the viewer. Oils are my preferred medium, but I have taken up Asian Ink and watercolor painting, which is on the opposite spectrum of working with. Oils take time and need to dry and build, the Asian ink and watercolors technique is quick and more freeing with flow and unity. I appreciate both being polar opposites. I also sketch!
Where do you find inspiration?Bright days, nature and also in the odd and slightly skewed version of life. I really like M.S. Escher and his mirror subjects they fascinate me, and I wish I was that precise. I love horror movie characters as subjects, animals, and for some reason am drawn to archways like you would find in old European cities.
What would you do with $25,000?I would like to win the money to invest in more supplies and have a studio and frame shop. I would also donate portions to some local mental health nonprofits associated with Clubhouse International. I am associated with them and they really have a great thing going to help a lot of people from all walks of life.
