Art is the only way I know how to communicate in a way I am not misunderstood.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Oil paints and Pastels have been my top two media. I am studying abstraction right now as it relates to organic form. I want to develop work that celebrates our natural world and gives the viewer a new perspective.
Where do you find inspiration? The forest and beach. I think both scenes are normally rich in content. When we get to the forest, we deal with ridged lines and scatter that creates unique shapes. At a beach, we have, normally, an organic contrast to architecture. My favorite place growing up was Myrtle Beach and the hotels along seaside just always looked like a complete composition to me.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the funds to start a new arts collective in my town. We have so many artists here who are disenfranchised, and myself and a few others are dedicating our work and the coming years to changing that. The collective will span mediums, styles, and techniques. But the purpose is to gather a curated group of artists who are committed to our craft.
