I love to create because I feel freedom, levity. It brings me peace.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Mixed media is something I find very satisfying. Combining paint, pencils, print in typically a 2-D format is where I find myself most days. Utilizing found objects and discarded items, even dried flower petals from old arrangements, is a direction I explore. I also like taking photo details of larger work, and even play w natural sunlight and shadow.
Where do you find inspiration?Natural elements, changing seasons, growth, decay, all play a role. Connectivity, branching systems, like roots, webs, fascinate me. Patterns, rhythms, base, music, all move me deeply. Sometimes, I am just showing up at the canvas, as I work through things. Art softens the hard (life) lines. Also, if I can make a positive impact on someone else, through my art, that feeds a beautiful thing. Connectivity w others.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000, I would support my daughter’s continued education following high school. Lillian Rose is extremely creative, hardworking, and I would like to provide her the best possible experience to pursue her dreams.
