I create art because it is an outlet where I feel I can really get in touch with myself deeply and emotionally. Creating art brings me peace
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create is oil paint. The piece I sent in is a mix of water color, acrylic, pastel, and mixed medias to make the viewer feel emotions and gives the viewer a way to interpret the art.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in emotion. I feel I really can dive deep into my soul when creating. The piece I chose specifically is titled, “Societal Holds” there is crumpled up/burned music sheets of songs where the viewer will feel the sadness being portrayed. The ballerina is being held up by puppet hands which portrays the girl being controlled by societies views and societal norms. The roughed up card board and pastel finish that correlates with the burnt paper shows the toll it has on the woman.
What would you do with $25,000?I have always dreamt of taking my art to another level. I do art commissions as of now through my art instagram account @art_by_kland. With the money I could create art at another level, creating art that makes people feel and interpret. I think there is so much beauty in art that is overlooked, and where I am from I would love to see it grow and flourish to help many. Art is a form of therapy that many individuals take advantage of. I would love to be able to take my creativity to another level
