I create Art simply because I must, kinda like breathing. The act of creation brings me joy and is it's own reward. Life is to be celebrated
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I am a Native American, oil painter. I love to paint portraits, of the Elders from many different tribes. I feel it's my duty to honor those who came before me. I am also currently painting a Seattle Grunge music tribute, to all my friends, unfortunately many of them have passed away. But, there music lives on, along with many fond memories.
Where do you find inspiration?People ask me this question often. I paint simply because it brings me joy. It's my therapy. I also just let go and allow the spirit of the person I am painting to flow through me, and be expressed how they want to on the canvas.
What would you do with $25,000?I'm not only a profesional artist, but I'm also a drug and alcohol counselor. I teach art therapy for individuals struggling with addiction, and mental health issues. I think I would try and use the money to help start additional facilities to help more people find peace through creation. I love to see my students find healthy outlets, that they are passionate, wether it's painting, music, sculpture. Anything that redirects the human spirit.
