Art takes me to a spiritual place and heals my soul. It is my escape from reality, my studio is my castle and my art, my knight.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love working with all kinds of mediums. Right now, I'm into acrylics and Japanese papers, collage work. I used to love oils but I'm rather impatient. Texture and color scream to me at times. Diorama boxes are fun as well. I dig all kinds of art and all kinds of mediums. I also write a bit now and again.
Where do you find inspiration?Nature. Nature is what inspires me most of all. I love to sit at the river and look and listen to nature. I am truly blessed to live in such a beautiful place. Visiting galleries and looking at other people's art. When something catches my eye. I like to let the artist know how much it moves me. That is, if they are still alive. Twice I have traveled to New York City from Coos Bay on the Greyhound bus. My mentor grew up there and we visited museums, galleries, and it was an amazing experience.
What would you do with $25,000?Probably put a sturdy foundation under our hundred-year-old house and get new tires for my car or build a studio that didn't have a 12 foot ladder that I have to climb at 63 years of age.
