I paint to capture beauty, feeling, and memory in a way words cannot, creating art that feels soulful, warm, and timeless.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love creating landscapes because the creative process feels honest to me. I rarely know exactly where a painting is headed, and somewhere along the way I am always reminding myself that it is okay to change direction. That freedom to explore, shift, and uncover what is buried within is where my work comes from.
Where do you find inspiration?I draw inspiration from nature’s hidden places, the nostalgia of childhood, memories of running through the woods with a wild imagination, the peace found in the quiet places, and the untamed beauty of the natural world.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the prize money to create margin for my art. As a mother of three boys balancing family and work, uninterrupted time to paint is rare. This support would allow me to invest in materials, dedicate focused time to creating, and continue building a body of work that feels deeply honest and true to who I am as an artist.
