I love to create custom art on a guitar that makes it special, tells a story, or is a meaningful image for the musician playing it.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!

Receive Text UpdatesI like to paint with acrylics or illustrate my art on everyday objects, but I especially love painting on guitars. I want to create fully playable musical instruments that also have some meaning behind the images painted on them. Whether it’s a special memory or sometimes just something that’s important or funny to the musician. I paint anything from psychedelic designs, to pop culture, to horror art. It’s always great to see the guitars being played and the music that is being made with them.
Where do you find inspiration?Everyday life and people’s stories about what matters to them are my inspiration. After talking to someone I usually get an image in my mind of what their guitar will look. Sometimes world events will make an impression on me, either positive or negative. And even just patterns or commonplace things in the world that I find beautiful for some reason. I also like to paint guitars for charity events for fundraisers. I find a lot of inspiration in the different people and their stories.
What would you do with $25,000?For a long time I have wanted to open a small co-op art studio and shop. It would be someplace where all types of artists would have their own dedicated part of the space to both create art in, and sell their work. It could also have a performance space to feature local bands playing weekly. There aren’t enough affordable spaces for most artists to try to make a living doing what they love. I would use any prize money for start up costs, to be able to focus on making this a reality.
