Why limit myself, I'm still learning. I play where the wind takes me, and what the people need. I do love me some absurdity, if I'm being honest. Too many folks are divided these days, I like to provide a release from that division. Even if briefly. I enjoy folks laughing and smiling. A spectator at an art festival once told me "I take people to my world, by holding their hand. not forcefully." I love that!
Where do you find inspiration?EVERYWHERE! Have you seen a woman' neck? The image hidden in the woodgrain. How light and shadow can trick? Watching other artists techniques. How an animal or child perceive and react? A new food! Hitting random on youtube for music. Telling the server "Surprise me". Hanging out where I'm the dumbest in the room. Going somewhere I don't speak the language and having to be vulnerable. Watching black and white movies and news reels. David Lynch. Nature. Houses of Worship. sock puppets.
What would you do with $25,000?Wow, I'm not sure what to say. I was just trying to make it in. It would be nice, but to have the show and publicity! I'm still very new to the public art world. And this acceptance to me is worth more. Money comes and goes, but people talk, copy, and are inspired by art forever. However, I really would like to get a bucket truck (there are so many public art projects around Columbus I want to do that needs one) And if there's any left over a glass kiln maybe? Dont worry nothing adult like!
