Carving slows time, sharpens focus, and brings ideas to life. It connects me to craft, purpose, and the joy of creating something lasting.

My favorite type of art to create is chainsaw carving. There’s something powerful about taking a raw piece of wood and bringing it to life. Each cut is intentional, and every piece tells a story. I love creating wildlife like owls, bears, and eagles because they connect people to nature and to something deeper within themselves.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in nature and in people. Growing up and working with my hands taught me to see potential in things. A simple stump, a walk in the woods, or a conversation with someone can spark an idea. A lot of my work comes from that connection between the natural world and human experience.
What would you do with $25,000?With 25,000, I would invest in my craft and my community. I’d upgrade equipment, expand my carving capabilities, and create more opportunities to teach others through carving workshops and retreats. I’d also use part of it to give back through community pieces that bring people together and leave something meaningful behind.
