Art is innate. I don’t really think about it or do much planning. I just start and see where it goes. And that’s the fun part.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite subjects are people. I am a child of the 90s, so I grew up with MAD Magazine and Salem Sportswear tee shirts. Caricatures or just exaggerated proportions often seep into my work.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration is all around. I am a big sports fan, so sometimes I am inspired by athletes and I try to recapture moments on paper or canvas. My biggest inspiration, however, is probably other artists and musicians. I love to study van Gogh, Dali, even Dr. Seuss. Or I turn on Johnny Cash, the Beatles, or Pearl Jam as I work. I don't necessarily try to emulate or replicate, but I am certainly influenced and inspired by them.
What would you do with $25,000?Catch up on medical bills and help my three kids with tuition.
