If i dont create i unravel at the seams, weaving together portraiture, hand blown glass, and stained glass to create a body of work!
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love using different mediums depending on the subject matter. I would say portraiture on stained glass, oil ontop of acrylic on canvas, pencil and eraser for photorealistic imagery-that i feel encapsulates peoples essence as well as appearance. Some surreal and obscured self portraiture and of course i love to create handblown glass in the hotshop!
Where do you find inspiration? In everything and everyone. My pain, love, and the inbetween. Other artists like basquiat, Salvadore Dali, Frida Khalo, musicians like Billy holiday, Biggie Smalls, FkA Twigs and past teachers like Judith Schaector, Nancy Sqwire. Through multiple mediums i explore the world through “rose colored glasses” and try to simulate from my viewpoint things i find unique, challenging to simulate, or eccentric. Many subjects inspire me to try to encapsulate their essence with hyper realism and surrealism.
What would you do with $25,000?I would first secure a studio/gallery & shop space and e-commerce site for a year that is conducive to working with several different mediums and selling my art as well as offering classes to the community. I would hire someone to help me move into my own space as i am disabled and can no longer lift the weight i used to. My studio space is currently non existent and in boxes so getting back to working and be able to pay rent would be amazing and i could make my way to LA for that show!
