My favorite style of art is hyperrealism because of its ability to capture both detail and emotion in a deeply impactful way. While technical accuracy is important to me, the true purpose behind my work is storytelling. I strive to create pieces that go beyond realism and evoke genuine emotion, allowing viewers to connect with the experiences, struggles, and feelings represented within the artwork. I want my art to leave a lasting impression. not only for what is seen, but for what is felt.

My art begins where language ends, giving form to emotions I can’t put into words. I’m deeply moved by my son’s resilience; his life with autism teaches me to find beauty in intricate details others might miss. My work also serves as a necessary outlet for the grief of losing his father to mental health struggles. By leaning into these raw experiences, I use visual storytelling to honor our vulnerability and find a sense of peace within the complex realities that shape us.

If I were awarded $25,000, I would use it in a very responsible and practical way. Part of it would go toward continuing my education in art and investing in the tools and training I need to grow as an artist. I would also use a portion to pay off debt so I can create more stability in my life and focus on my future. This support would allow me to move forward with less financial pressure and more freedom to fully develop my work and my goals.
