Site Specific Installation is my favorite because I like to work with intention directed towards a specific location and opportunity. I like interactive artworks because I want to break down the barriers of static Art and make it more fun and accessible to everyone. I like to craft well made objects layered with conceptual meaning, so I can give something to everyone that approaches my work whether you're an Artist, engineer, kid, Art historian, or the everyday person!
Where do you find inspiration?I look for and find inspiration everywhere in unexpected places! Art can be found in all your interests, so I indulge. Many of my ideas have come from putting myself in uncomfortable places to generate wholly new works on a deadline with unfamiliar parameters...both my Light Switch series and mailable installations came from invitations to make a sculpture for a themed show...and realized afterwards there was something innately interesting that needed to be pursued more...15 years later...
What would you do with $25,000?I would build a 2nd garage / new workshop because I filled up my garage (as well as my house and a shed I built last year) with all my Art...I've literally built myself out of a home making Art lol
