Artwork is heavily subjective. I simply open a window and reveal to the rest of the world what is hiding in plain sight.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I work with what I’ve got, simple printer papers and mechanical pencils. If I’m feeling fancy I’ll get myself a canvas and paint my heart out. When it comes to the style of art that I create, I’d consider my work to be abstract expressionist, though I do experiment with other styles of work every now and then. I find it important to expand your skills with different types of art styles. I also tend to just draw in black and white, using color only to draw attention to the viewer’s eyes quicker.
Where do you find inspiration?I often find inspiration in the music I listen to while I work on a piece. I imagine a music video playing in my head and I translate it onto the paper or canvas. Sometimes a single lyric to a song will inspire me to create.
What would you do with $25,000?As I am currently a student in community college, I intend to use a good portion of my money to pay for tuition and eventually an apartment when I transfer to a four year college within the next year. The money will definitely help kickstart my next steps into college and future career of working in the Forestry / National Parks services.
