Connect What is your favorite type of art to create?

Honestly, I can sit here and write about how I love painting, printmaking, or even drawing because I do genuinely love them all. My favorite kind of art to make is the art we don’t always think about, and we do it every day; Just getting dressed in the morning. Fashion has always been one of my biggest inspirations (especially Vivienne Westwood), all the colors, textures, and patterns mashed up to create something you feel confident and proud to wear. That’s truely my favorite art.

Where do you find inspiration?

Most of my inspiration comes from life, people walking around, I see someone wearing a cool skirt or a guy wearing something I’d never thought of, taking that and the feeling it gave me when I saw it and rolling with it. Sometimes I’ll use art to help understand/transcribe my feelings to get a better understanding and overall just feel a release. Art doesn’t necessarily need to come from anything or be anything, it is art, that’s what makes it art. That’s why I love it.

What would you do with $25,000?

If by chance I had the opportunity to win $25,000, I’d use it to pay for college. I’m now just ending my freshman year and still have 3 more years to go, and the bills are definitely not pretty even just for the bachelor’s degree. I plan on getting my masters as well so if I had any chance of winning, I would definitely put it to college. My mom is my only support and without her I don’t know where I’d be, I’m so very greatful and just want to help her as soon as possible for helping me!
