I love to create art because it allows me to tell the story of growing up as a trans Mexican man. My culture means so much to my identity
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love creating digital art but also love traditional such as painting, sculpting, and watercolor. My artwork normally tells a story. Any piece I draw will never not include a storyline with it. Even if it’s my own experience.
Where do you find inspiration?Growing up as a child of immigrant parents, I’ve always found my experience in a Mexican household unique. Filled with love, pain, pride and strength. I live in a world where hard work means never giving up or not giving it your all. All tasks, including being a janitor at a museum as my current career, means giving it your 100% every day. As we live in a harsh world today, my pride is far too great to keep me from hiding my culture. It’s everything in my life I find inspiring to create art.
What would you do with $25,000?I would simply help my grandmother out as she recently had a leg amputation from diabetes. I would also go to college and get a degree in early child education along side art studies. I hope to become an art teacher.
