Because it is a life saver, truthfully. Art has gotten me through parts of my life where there was no other vice. It’s part of me now.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Surrealism and Impressionism. Anything that makes you search for a story. I want the viewer use their own personal connection. Their own imagination journey. If art tells a story, it’s generally for me. The idea of making colors come to life, mixing and matching fine lines and dots to create a new world. I want to give people a moments escape. A trip down the rabbit hole. From this I notice the finer details of life. Watch the world around me, and take in the new information.
Where do you find inspiration?I’ve lived an interesting life. I was born and raised in Rhode Island. I was praised for Art, and placed in advanced classes. All I wanted to do was go to RISD and flourish into the art community. Life happens and brings you on the ride you were meant for. I had moved to Tampa in my early 20’s. Experienced a whole new world of culture, food, and lifestyle. About 2 years ago I moved to a very Appalachian town in Ohio. Three very different cultures, dialects, and environments.
What would you do with $25,000?I have a brother and niece I maybe get to see once a year. I would like to see them, to give them a great memory, especially being both their senior year. I also have a dream about opening up a small multicultural shop in Appalachia. I ran 8 shops for a Ma and Pop shop in Florida and I fell in love. Due to social media people are now exposed to the outside world. I want to bring a part of that to a small town.
