Sculptural paintings. Creating large pieces of moments in nature. Specific to floral compositions and nature in general, using plaster as my medium owns my heart. I enjoy the process of the idea, the rough draft, the decided design, building the structure, and then crafting the floral piece. Theres something about being able to maneuver my palette knife into creating petals, leaves, etc… that satiates my soul. Creating in plaster elevates my vibration and sends me soaring.
Where do you find inspiration?In missed moments. Those little moments that most people overlook in their busy lives. Stepping outside to the wind shifting in my face as if it’s pushing my hair back to force me to look up to see the tree branch swinging in the breeze. When in a flower bed and the sunlight moves through the petals as if it’s illuminating its aura. My daughter. How her laugh suddenly illuminates any room, her presence brings peace to my heart. And her face is structured in pure femininity. She is radiant light
What would you do with $25,000?I would move myself into a space which would allow me to be able to craft in safety. A space to be able to move around in and have all of my supplies accessible in one location. I’d update my lighting so I wouldn’t have to fight the sun setting. I’d purchase the supplies needed to enhance my structures to be built with even move confidence. I’d also invest in furthering my education in electrical wiring and woodworking to take my art to the level it deserves.
