Connect What is your favorite type of art to create?

I love blending contemporary expressionism with abstract portraiture and symbolism. Vibrant colors make my emotions feel alive on canvas. The built-in softer elements of florals, stems and leaves represent the growth and renewal of continuous life transformations. Integrating human form on a layered abstract background, allows me to convey deeply rooted emotions that can be difficult to express with words at times. The combination of these art styles reflect my soul’s inner truths of life.

Where do you find inspiration?

I started painting during one of the hardest seasons of my life. What began as an escape slowly became a way for me to process, heal, and rebuild myself while creating pieces that bring peace, reflection, and connection. I’m inspired by the art of healing and learning myself through art as I navigate life as a millennial. Each therapeutic brush stroke allows me to quiet the chatter in my mind and put my feelings into something others can see, feel, and relate to.

What would you do with $25,000?

I would invest in creating art programs specifically for foster and adopted children, giving them a safe space to express themselves emotionally. As someone who has experienced that system, I understand how important healthy outlets are. Art can be a powerful tool for healing, confidence, and self-discovery, and I want to use my journey to help others find their voice through creativity. Ultimately, making a positive impact on society is my greatest purpose in this lifetime.
