Creating art is how I express what words can’t. It lets me place pieces of myself outside my mind and see them in a new light.

My favorite type of art to create involves glass, especially stained glass. The process feels intense, all the cutting, grinding, and soldering pieces together with heat. It’s hands-on and somewhat unforgiving, yet the final result is something people see as delicate and fragile. I’m fascinated by how something created through intensity and force becomes something that looks soft, quiet, and easily broken.
Where do you find inspiration?I draw inspiration from fleeting, often overlooked moments. I look for moments of intensity in light, motion, and form that mirror the energy of working with glass. Everything is in motion, and I’m drawn to capturing a single, fleeting moment. Turning something brief into something lasting feels meditative. It feels like giving permanent form to a feeling before it can disappear.
What would you do with $25,000?I’d invest the money into starting a stained glass studio where I can create new work and teach others the craft. Having a dedicated space to share this art would mean a lot to me.
