Art is expressive. I value the aesthetic that involves urban decay, natural reclamation, and human expression through graffiti.

As a film photographer, I work to compose my art in ways that show depth. To get that effect, I have to be decisive in the film that I use, my angle of approach, as well as controlling how much light exposure there is. My photographs are abstract. I have spent years growing my skills to create my photographic framework. I also branch out into other art forms, even if I am not as well versed in them. Artists have to be flexible, something I embody. I have recently started painting surrealism.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in through creation and nature. One of the things that makes us human as a species is art. I strongly believe that art is one of the primary reasons why we have come so far. Art allows us to be creative, imaginative, and free. Art is also proof that we exist, acting as a snapshot showing that we have a presence in this world. I also draw inspiration from nature. I was introduced into a world where we are very removed from nature. I find it inspiring to ground in nature.
What would you do with $25,000?With the $25,000 from this showcase, I would be able to invest in my future as a student and artist. I plan on putting it forward to pay for my education at California State University Northridge. I am pursuing a major in geology and a minor in photography. It will also help to pay for a place of residence as I continue my educational career. Having access to those funds would greatly reduce the amount of stress in my future.
