I make art from discarded materials to reveal the quiet connections between people, memory and the environments we share.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love creating mixed media work that sits between painting, sculpture, and assemblage. I’m drawn to textured surfaces, repurposed materials, and forms that feel symbolic, tactile, and alive. I like making work that people can look at, feel into, and keep discovering over time.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in discarded materials, memory, spiritual and cultural symbols, inner life, and the quiet ways things connect. I’m also inspired by West African visual traditions, divination systems, sound, rhythm, and the feeling that objects can hold presence beyond what we first see.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use it to move into a larger live-work space so I can grow my practice properly. Right now I work from a small apartment, and I have pushed that space as far as I can. More room would let me make larger work, store materials safely, document the work better, and create with more freedom, especially when my two kids are with me. It would also help me invest in materials, tools, and the continued growth of my Inner Constellations series.
