I create art primarily because the process feeds my soul. I also use it to reveal alternate perspectives to the human condition.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I do not have a favorite type of art. Different methods serve different purposes and the extent to which the service is effective is usually proportionate to my preference. For example, if I wanted to portray the ego and blindness of a political buffoon who thinks himself a leader, a cartoon will be most appropriate, in the same way that oils will be preferred if the subject was a a hyper realistic portrait of a woman. So, my favorite type of art is dependent on what I want the piece to do.
Where do you find inspiration?Life itself is inspiration. The countless moving parts that make up the tapestry of existence -from the infinity of outer space, to the fundamental role that is played by bees in the cyclical continuum of human existence, for example, are laden with inspiring ideas. Such ideas can hold me restlessly captive, until they crystallize as art that questions, explores, challenges, or inform the stream of human consciousness in ways that may contribute to the activation of a new dawn.
What would you do with $25,000?I will hire professionals who can build and activate a social media marketing strategy that will, hopefully, give my work the exposure and recognition that it deserves. One of my ideas is to create a channel where artists, including myself, will create art, while interacting with a live audience in a conversation about the painting, the thought process behind it, and how the artist expects the work to infiltrate and inform the human experience in a way that is calculated to take us forward.
