I create art from discarded metal, music, and motion to awaken wonder, heal people, and show that nothing truly beautiful is ever wasted.

My favorite art to create is improvisational wire and reclaimed metal sculpture. I love taking discarded materials and letting my hands, not a sketch, lead the process. The pieces often move or feel like they’re frozen in mid‑motion, almost like music made visible. I’m drawn to multisensory work that engages the eye, body, and imagination at once, inviting people to slow down, feel, and see possibility where others saw only waste.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in discarded materials on city streets, in opera and music, and in my dreams. Growing up with a music‑teacher dad and painter mom shaped how I see the world: everything feels like raw material waiting to be activated. Often a twisted piece of metal I find or a melody I’m practicing sparks a whole sculpture. I’m most inspired when I improvise, trusting my subconscious to reveal forms that feel both ancient and futuristic.
What would you do with $25,000?With 25,000, I would expand my wire and reclaimed‑metal practice and grow WRAP, my sustainability‑focused art nonprofit. I’d secure a dedicated studio where I can safely scale up larger kinetic sculptures, invest in tools and storage for reclaimed materials, and document the work through professional video and music. I’d also fund community workshops that teach people how to turn “waste” into sculpture, creating a pipeline of new pieces, collaborators, and audiences.
