ALAN M. LADWIG

After working within confines of government I'm reveling in creating art described as whimsical, fun, and outsider.

What is your favorite type of art to create?

Tin mosaics and Galactic Retablos

Where do you find inspiration?

Many of my tin mosaics are inspired from my career in the space sector. The pieces featuring sea life and mermaids are inspried from living on a lake.

What would you do with $25,000?

I believe the common reference to STEM education, should add an "A" for Art (STEAM) and would donate part of the money to educational institutions that promote art teaching and opportunities for children. This would include a workshop for kids in the neighborhood of the Lake Barcroft Art League. Although I've been primarily a self-taught artist, I would like to apply funds to enroll in art courses at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria,VA. Also to renew memberships for art organizations.
