Creating art pushes me beyond unseen boundaries, fueling both my growth as an artist and as a person.

I enjoy working across many different mediums including oil, acrylic, watercolor, pencil, as well as wood, clay, and Sculpey. When I have a specific message or story to convey, I’m naturally drawn to figurative work. When I’m expressing emotion more intuitively, I lean toward abstraction. Ultimately, my favorite type of art is something I’ve never attempted before—or a result I’ve never achieved. That sense of exploration keeps the process alive for me.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in everything around me. Every interaction—whether positive or negative—offers insight into what to do and what to avoid. I also study artists across disciplines who challenge the way I think about both life and art. At the same time, I value silence. It reduces mental clutter and creates clarity, which often becomes the foundation for new ideas and direction.
What would you do with $25,000?I’m creating a 30-piece exhibition with the Asian Pacific American Network of Oregon (APANO), where 60% of proceeds support underserved communities. With $25,000, I would complete the final works and help amplify APANO’s mission. This is more than art—it’s about uplifting people, sharing real stories, and creating impact that lives beyond the canvas.
