Public Art. It is an honour to work in collaboration with communities to celebrate our common humanity-rusting, mended, broken, unbroken, and painfully beautiful. We work in glass and bronze and Stainless...materials that will last for generations. Glass captures our spirit, quite literaly. 97 percent of our DNA is shared with stars and glass is the by-product of exploding stars...Our Public Art is made with the human hand to celebrate the poetry of our humanity.
Where do you find inspiration?In the mercurial sky and the heartbeat of our neighbours--the music of the everyday inspires us.
What would you do with $25,000?Studio expansion. The Milligan Studio is the collaborative of Alan and Nicole Mary Milligan: our imagination has outgrown our walls. We no longer have room for our High-Risk Youth mentorship program...our space is too small as our work is becoming massive. We are currently building one of the largest glass and steel freestanding sculptures in the world in back of our studio, outdoors, during the winter. This money would help us build a welcoming studio for dreams, and those who dream them.
