I started creating art when I moved to NYC to express the urban loneliness I felt and still feel.

I love creating abstract art. Primarily oil painting and oil pastels. I enjoy painting rooms and liminal spaces.
Where do you find inspiration?I'm inspired by Édouard Vuillard for his soft pinks and blues as well as his queasy greens and reds. I look at how people walk around and live in NYC on their lonesome. I take inspiration from watching people in coffee shops, at raves, in classrooms, in museums, and also in libraries.
What would you do with $25,000?Firstly I would rent a cheap space to make art in. I paint on the floor of my bedroom right now. I would use the $25,000 to develop a new body of work that expands my practice in both scale and material experimentation. The funding would support dedicated studio time, access to new processes, and the production of exhibition-ready pieces. It would also give me the freedom to take creative risks that aren’t immediately market-driven, while allowing me to remain fully focused on the work.
