I create for Maria. For her I make and I can almost feel her with me again when I paint. Jamas en vida siempre en la arte, Maria Alejandra

I love to create art depicting silkmen. They are worm headed figures that I dance with to depict myself and those around me. I feel the best way to express anything that I have to deal with in life is by painting, its a release both physically and emotionally. I think of myself as the silkmen, I would rather paint and draw them than work tirelessly in art school drawing the same nudes and portraits as everyone else. I love moorse code and body impressions also, they are so much more raw and real
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration from looking into my own writing and pulling from strong emotional reactions I have to the world around me. I write poetry and in my work I have one subject who features most prominent, she is my greatest inspiration and all of my work is dedicated to her memory in one way or another. My heavy use of black, white, and red is drawn directly from her, those are the three colors she would always wear and I make sure that I keep them in all of my work. Maria siempre piensare en ti
What would you do with $25,000?25,000 would be something that I want to use to take my work down to Ecuador. The majority of my family lives there and they arent able to travel to the US with everything going on. I want to be able to share everything I have accomplished and create work there in Ecuador with and for my family so they can enjoy my work. With the 25,000 I would have a solo exhibition in the city of cuenca and invite my family, once the exhibition ends, I would want to give each family member their own painting:)
