Born in Colombia’s rainforest, I paint what words can’t say:emotion, imperfection, beauty. Art only a living soul, never a machine, can feel

Abstract acrylic painting; layered, textured, and alive with color. My work channels Tropical Abstract Surrealism: the dense greens of the Colombian Amazon meeting the urban energy of Washington, DC. I build paintings in stages, letting emotion guide each layer rather than planning the outcome. The imperfection IS the art. I love how abstraction invites the viewer in — they bring their own meaning, their own memory. Every canvas becomes a conversation between my soul and theirs.
Where do you find inspiration?Everywhere the wild and the human collide. The Colombian Amazon, where I was born; its light, its chaos, its impossible colors- lives in every brushstroke. But also DC: its murals, monuments, and neighborhoods that carry centuries of stories. I find inspiration in memory, in migration, in the tension between where you’re from and where you’ve built your life. Nature, street corners, food, music. I’m always collecting feelings that eventually make their way onto the canvas.
What would you do with $25,000?This would be the launchpad I’ve been building toward. I’d use it to leave my day job and paint full-time, fund a solo exhibition in DC, and launch my Selva Pack print subscription, bringing original art to collectors who can’t yet afford originals. A portion would go toward an international residency in France or Italy, where I’d create a new body of work rooted in my Colombian identity meeting European art history. $25K wouldn’t just change my life, it would help me create beauty for the world
