Choosing a favorite medium is difficult because my work spans such a vast range. I’m most at home in my studio, using pen and ink to meticulously illustrate mystical, magical universes. Conversely, I love diving into abstract painting, where I let intuition guide me through immense explosions of color. These two styles represent my duality: my drawings are detailed and monochromatic, while my paintings embrace every color in the spectrum to capture a pure, unspoken feeling.
Where do you find inspiration?My inspiration comes from everywhere—family travels, places I experience, and the people I meet along the way. My work reflects and reacts to the world around me. I’m also deeply inspired by my community, collaborating with other artists and creating large-scale murals that bring art to the forefront and make it accessible for everyone to enjoy.
What would you do with $25,000?If I won the $25,000, I would invest it in furthering my art career by expanding my supplies and continuing my education. I’d also use it to bring more art into my community by hosting open studio nights at a new gallery space I’m helping create called The Hive—a place where people can gather, create, and be inspired together.
