I have always called art my first language, before learning how to speak, I expressed myself through drawings and colors. Today I’m the same
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
The main mediums of art I enjoy creating with are digital art and acrylic paint. I love the freedom of digital art because of the experimentation I get to do with the different brushes and colors and the versatility of projects that come from it. I grew up using acrylic paint so when I’m painting it’s familiar and meditative. I will also spend time with pencil, charcoal, and pen but not as consistently. However, the power of the shading and dimension of the three is unmatched.
Where do you find inspiration? My main influences are my experiences and stories I hear in the rooms of mental health spaces and my peers in addiction. I create art for myself and my peers to vocalize their stories and be a constant reminder of their growth and recovery. My main intention is to have people feel seen and represented through my art. I try to do this in many different styles and mediums, so someone can find comfort in my art.
What would you do with $25,000?With the $25,000 I would use the opportunity to complete my education at the art school I am attending. Secondly, I would give back to the non-profit, “Audacity Performing Arts”, the non profit that first platformed me to support my art career and gives arts education to children at low income elementary schools.
