Creating allows me to express my emotions without saying a single word. A mental and spiritual therapy for my mind body and soul.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Usually an abstract form of the earth, flowers, sea life, or humans and capturing their expressions. I enjoy mixing abstract with realism. I love the flow and movement of the paint that creates a world that my eyes can focus in on and make it come to life. I work w acrylics, paint pens, oil paints, or pencil. It’s exciting to experiment with simple items like rubbing alcohol, sponges, spray bottles, droppers, tissues etc. You can never get the exact same result!
Where do you find inspiration?LIFE /MUSIC! When I was young and an innocent time I enjoyed trying to copy things that interested me. As I got older it started to reflect challenges I faced or capturing the beauty that was all around. I see images in everything! Floor tiles , wood, trees, wallpaper, a few drops of paint. Or it simply comes from how I’m feeling at the moment. When I’m most depressed it becomes my therapy and no one ever has to hear me say a word. It frees storage in my brain that’s overloaded with thoughts
What would you do with $25,000?Finish my she shed to create in. I don’t have a space to create as I’d like too. I’d buy new paints pens etc and new bins to hold them in. I’ve been working from very old items and in a small space. I’d pay some medical bills. I have chronic lymes disease and fibromyalgia so I’m limited to work and don’t have the funds to get anything new to use. I’d also take my closest loved ones who have supported me from the beginning (mom) or recently, to a fabulous restaurant and celebrate!
