I create because I feel compelled to, like I my “essence” is far bigger than my body. Art gives me somewhere to put the excess energy.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My best work happens when I have no plan & when I paint very loosely and intuitively. I need to process feelings while I work, or else I feel that you can tell in the end result when I was painting with my mind and not my gut.
Where do you find inspiration?Ordinary, mundane moments, and wild nature. I feel deeply that there’s an inherent magic in everything. When I paint, I aim to capture the sense of wonder I feel in nature & in the stillness of what we call “ordinary” moments.
What would you do with $25,000?I dropped out of art school early to start my business as an artist. I’d use $25k to pay off the last of my student loans & invest the rest in a studio space & new supplies so that I can work more freely, as my studio space is currently my living room.
