Art is how I express what words can’t, connect with others, and leave something behind that says – I was here, I felt this, I created this.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love to create large scaled installations that often include textiles. I am also into traditional neon, printmaking, and furniture building. My main passion is weaving and dyeing. I love creating art that could become functional. For example, the pieces that are showing are 108 x 55” Shibori dyed fabric that explore how the handmade process becomes meaning. Yes it is displayed as you are stepping into this new world, but I like to ask myself how can I make these pieces of fabric functional?
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration from the built environment and architecture, traditional techniques, certain art movements, and right now the artists I surround myself with. I am a senior at Arizona State University graduating in May 2026 so I have been really surrounding myself with other artists in different mediums. I love learning about other people and their connections with art or even trying whatever medium they work in. Learning is a key part of how I get inspired.
What would you do with $25,000?I would put it directly towards a graduate program because the best investment I can make in my art is investing in myself, my education, and the community of creatives that come with it.
