Art saw me. Art created me. For me, my world would be a grayscale without it. Creating being a visual way I make others feel and admire.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite mediums are graphite, charcoal, and acrylic paint or oil paint. I really enjoy portrature and figure drawing when I'm working with dry mediums with focuses of shadow, light, and small detail. I like being in more control of my marks. When working with wet mediums like paint, I enjoy studying landscapes and still lifes. With that however, I get to be more loose handed with it and I enjoy the search of locking in shapes and shadows and how it all blends together.
Where do you find inspiration? As I also work with photography, I constantly find myself coming up with compositions and piece ideas in my mind and that's a trick I use when it comes to the layouts. I of course also find deep inspiration with other artists I come across including my peers I work with. Some well known famous artists but also artists who aren't widely known and I think they are just equally as important. I find myself discovering new artists all the time and finding styles and inspiration within their work.
What would you do with $25,000?I'm currently an undergrad at Fashion Institute of Technology for Fine Arts but with the current struggle of affording it financially. I'm so grateful for this experience already, all I want is to continue being a successful artist with the ability to make others feel and connect through the power of art too. I would use it towards my education, to keep persuing what I love and use it to help get me into the possible future art career I strive and give my all for every day.
