Art is my survival—the language I use to navigate darkness, rebuild my identity, and transform every struggle into a beautiful structure…
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I am drawn to Abstract Expressionism and Conceptual Art that tells a deep story. My favorite works are those with rich visual textures, where I can explore the themes of human survival and identity. As an architect and artist, I love blending the structural soul of buildings with the organic, tactile nature of textile art. I create pieces that feel alive—works that don't just show a form, but evoke the raw, enduring spirit of humanity.
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration comes from 24 years of exploring museums and Iran's ancient architectural identity. I am moved by the "invisible threads" that connect cultures, especially through the art of Persian carpets. Whether it’s the geometry of a thousand-year-old structure or a complex weave, I find beauty in stories left by time. For me, inspiration is in the struggle to rebuild and the silent language of a single thread.
What would you do with $25,000?Since immigrating to the U.S. 16 months ago, my dream has been to establish a professional art studio in San Diego. For me, this fund is not just a grant; it is the seed for a sanctuary—a studio where I can rebuild my life and bridge my Persian heritage with my new home. This support would be a vital step forward, allowing me to transform my journey into art. It is the beginning of a space where I can weave the stories of my past into the future of my new life here.
