Painting is my passion, though so many medias, forms and expressions sing to my soul. My latest obsession and personal challenge is acrylic abstract surrealism with portraiture, only using palette knives. No brushwork. It is a challenge and naturally encapsulates energy, emotion and movement through the very process of creating with the method of only using the knives. Being able to layer and create different illusions of texture from the innate characteristics of knife painting is hypnotic.
Where do you find inspiration?Having a very abstracted way of viewing this 3D realm we live in currently, I find inspiration through mere observation of life and life happening around me. Music and emotions from experiencing life dance out of my mind, both conscious and subconscious, and onto the canvas while the paint and palette knives allow it all to manifest into something tangible and observable through others’ senses. How will they interpret it? That’s the full circle of consciousness… preceding the future art..
What would you do with $25,000?I would invest some for security of mine and my son’s life, being a solo full time mamma. Then use the rest to build and chase my dreams of being a full time artist and live my purpose of existence… following the footsteps of my late father.
