My favorite type of art to create is visual art, especially photography. Inspired by cinema and visionary artists, I use photography, editing, and cinematic techniques to create expressive, emotionally driven images. While I draw from visual storytelling, my main anchor is my family life. Capturing our experiences as time passes gives my work meaning, allowing me to frame intimate moments that feel suspended in time and meant to last beyond it.

I find inspiration in photography’s ability to capture truth and feeling. Studying darkroom photography in college deepened that connection, influenced by artists like Diane Arbus, Henri Cartier-Bresson, and others who shaped the way I see. Beyond that, my deepest inspiration comes from my family and the quiet moments that often go unnoticed. It’s within those spaces—where time and memory meet—that I find something worth preserving forever, and extending that memory unto others.

If selected to win $25,000, I would invest it in growing my photography practice in lasting ways—upgrading essential equipment, developing new work, and creating opportunities to exhibit. Part would support travel to document overlooked people and stories, preserving moments that might otherwise fade with time. This opportunity would help me deepen my practice, build a sustainable path, and continue creating work that is honest, emotionally resonant, and everlasting.
