It has always been something that makes me feel like I am exactly where I’m supposed to be. Creating art gives me a strong sense of purpose.

I’m drawn to realism, whether I’m working with subtle skin tones and shadows or focusing purely on black and white. Creating in black and white feels calming—I can explore a full range of greys without the pressure of colour. When I do work with colour, it requires more energy and focus, as I rely on careful observation to capture the subtle, often invisible tones within the painting.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in contemporary artists on social media, as well as in my everyday surroundings—especially walking through my school and seeing the artwork displayed in the hallways. I’m also inspired by my own work; once I finish a piece, I often think about what would complement it and what I could create next to build on that idea.
What would you do with $25,000?I would choose to save some of the $25,000, especially since I’m only 22 and currently working part-time as a student. Having that financial security would be important to me. At the same time, I would want to use part of it for experiences, like travelling, with a focus of putting it toward attending a different school outside of where I currently live. That opportunity would help me become more independent and grow both personally and academically.
