I create to turn feeling into form. My mind doesn’t quiet on its own, so art is how I process, release, and make sense of what I feel.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I’m drawn to abstract, textural work that captures emotion over perfection. I create from feeling rather than plan, letting each piece unfold naturally. It becomes a way to release what’s inside me and translate it into something visible, something that can be felt, not just seen. Each piece holds a moment, a shift, or something I needed to move through.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in my internal world, in the thoughts that don’t quiet and the emotions that need somewhere to go. A lot of it comes from navigating my mental health, moments of tension, release, and reflection. I’m inspired by the need to understand myself, and by the honesty that comes from turning something invisible into something you can actually see and feel.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use it to buy time and peace of mind, the two things that make honest creation possible. It would allow me to create with more intention, invest in materials and space, and expand my work at a larger scale. My goal is to create pieces that hold real emotion and leave an impact, work that people don’t just see, but actually feel.
