I like creating art to give hope to others like me and to share ideas to people who are comfortable.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create is collaborative works or works that are ephemeral. Cameraless photography and experimental works are my forte.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in others, my community, in writing, reading, and being as open and present to life as possible—my best works have come out of my most memorable outbursts of emotion. In self-reflection, I think there’s a surrender that discharges the ego and allows an artist to create without worry. I aspire to be like that—to create for myself first and see who sticks around and what they’re about.
What would you do with $25,000?With 25 BIG G’s, the opportunities for bigger and more community driven art projects becomes feasible. I have some collaborative works in mind to engage with my community. In addition, that money could help me give back to my students who have inspired me over the past seven years. I would like to start a juried show for student photographers and use some of this money to award students within my area while spreading more creativity throughout the community. ?
