I love to create physical art with my hands and have been into collage art since I was a small child. I also enjoy mixed media sculptures and painting. I love to sing and dance. I think choosing an outfit is a form of art. How we live is art. I like to make a mess with my creative process. It feels good to see the aftermath of a complete project moments (sometimes weeks or months let's be real haha) after I was overwhelmed by the mess. To me it is a good reminder that life itself is a collage.

I find my inspiration in my dreams that fail to fade. In paisleys and Prince music. In 1984 and funkadelic beats. Nostalgia inspires most of my art. Living in the Twin Cities I don't have to go far to be inspired. We have a thriving supportive artist community that I am blessed to be a part of. I find inspiration in the strength of those who live beyond their scars to tell the story. I am constantly inspired by the power of art and music to unite people despite their efforts to divide us. If I win the money I will pour some of it back into the artist around me. I'll take a road trip with my mama and my son because they inspire me each day and remind me of the beauty of life. I will make more art and spread more love and inspire others to do the same. I will paint it all purple and sleep with a smile!
