Art has always been an escape for me, especially in childhood. Now, as an adult I try to create art to connect, rather than escape. To heal.

Currently, I'm finding myself really settling into my "tiny burns". I have 2 inch wooden rounds that I burn on with my single temp Weller tool. It is a slow and satisfying medium for me, and I love the focus it requires.
Where do you find inspiration?I find that the purity and beauty from the natural world is easy for me to love Mountains, trees, lakes, streams, sunsets, clouds, oceans; such a gift we have in nature. I also love the innocence of animals and the challenge they present to capture them in all their various shapes and sizes. Feathers, fur, scales, skin, horns, eyes, legs, tails; so many textures and shapes to focus on capturing. Calming, magestic, and innocent moments that nature offers to us are inspiring for me.
What would you do with $25,000?Definitely some of the winnings would go to charity. Specifically, I would make donations to the two volunteer fire departments I served on. Fire service gave me a community and purpose that I have known no equal to in my life. I would also love to buy a small piece of land in ME or VT. It has been a dream of mine to eventually have my own little retreat that I can go to, and that is truly mine to enjoy whenever I want. Something I could become rooted and attached to.
