My creation path is one founded within the desire to hold conversation on the seen and unseen within a collective, contemporary mythology.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Currently, I’ve deeply enjoyed diving back into oil painting; slightly dark but fantastical paintings of loved ones. During the dry time between painting layers, I always go back to printmaking. For some time now, I’ve been working on a fabric based print project that explores the symbology and mythos of my personal world; what’s here, what isn’t, and what could be.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration within symbology, herbalism, folklore, politics, books of fiction and poetry, and the experiences I share with those living life with me.
What would you do with $25,000?There isn’t any one thing I would do specifically, rather there are many! With this award, there’d be materials and equipment put toward my art practice, materials for our garden in which we hope to turn into a community space, material costs for collaborative fundraising, and so much more.
