As of lately, painting has been my favorite outlet. I love prepping my canvas and letting the creative juices flow. Whether it’s acrylic or oil, when the colors start to blend and a story appears, that’s when the magic begins. My Grandma was a painter and I moved into her home after she passed. There is something so special about being in her space and immersed within her energy. When I paint, it makes me feel closer to her, and closer to understanding who I am.
Where do you find inspiration?My inspiration comes from within and without. Life has a funny way of showing up in my work and I call them little moments that I want to take a snapshot of and keep forever. It could be a loved one who passed, a garden that grows, a sleepy cat under the window. If it sparks curiosity or any kind of emotion within me, then that is what I must capture in my own perspective. My inspiration connects to the life around me.
What would you do with $25,000?I would faint! Just kidding, there’s many things to do with that sum of money. Let’s just say, I’d invest in myself, my love for art, and share to others with the same passion. I had a dream I would one day own a place where artists would gather to paint, read, sip a cup of coffee, and discuss their art, dreams, and visions. Maybe that place could truly exist one day.
