I create art because I must. It's who I am. I also hope to bring something of the spirit of animals and nature into presence of the viewer.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Oil paintings and charcoal drawings.
Where do you find inspiration?Everything is inspiring to me, but primarily the magic and mystery of the natural world. Our modern lives often have us so disconnected from the wheel of the seasons and the natural world. There is a dreamscape that lies within nature going all the way back to the beginning. With my work, I seek to understand it all a little more. Always creating, I'm always seeking.
What would you do with $25,000?I would take a marketing class and invest a little in promoting my work. I live in a small, rural community with little opportunity for artists, but this is where I work. I'm a true 'people's artist,' not in the upper strata working full-time as an artist and selling work to a select elite, but creating non-stop in the fringes of time that exist between life's other responsibilities. I believe most of us artists create this way, between responsibilities of life, because this, like art, is real.
