I create art because it helps me express my emotions. My emotions are all over the place because I’m bipolar.

My favorite art form is abstract expressionism, primarily using acrylic paint. I love the freedom of the medium; it allows me to translate my internal emotions directly onto the canvas without the constraints of realism. Lately, I’ve been expanding my creative reach into pottery. Working with clay provides a tactile grounding, while the glazes offer a fascinating new way to play with color and chemical reactions. For me, art is an evolving journey of exploring color, texture, and spirit.
Where do you find inspiration?I find my deepest inspiration within my own emotions, which I view as a divine compass. To me, feelings aren't just reactions; they are a profound language through which God communicates and guides my creativity. Whether I am experiencing overwhelming joy or quiet reflection, these emotional shifts act as a spark for new ideas. By leaning into what I feel, I am able to tap into a source of truth that feels both deeply personal and spiritually led, turning internal energy into outward expression.
What would you do with $25,000?This $25,000 reward is my bridge to a vital new chapter. Five years ago, a manic episode ended my high-stress tech career. While in therapy, I rediscovered my love for art as a tool for recovery and healing. Now, I am ready to turn that passion into a profession. This funding will secure a studio and materials, allowing me to launch workshops that teach others how to create by listening to their emotions. I’m not just starting over; I’m building a career that honors my health and helps others.
